  Spending Time With God

  This four-week series explores how Christians can use spiritual disciplines on their own terms. By understanding the biblical purposes of Bible study, prayer, and giving we can mature as believers and serve God, not because of what we get out of it but because we love him.

    Bible study can be misunderstood as personal comfort and an intellectual pursuit. But we must allow the Bible to read us and train us in God’s ways.

    We might view prayer as a way to get what we want, but prayer is first about communicating with God; any blessings we receive are secondary.
