  How To Read The Bible

  This seven-week series focuses on how God reveals his will and desires for people through each specific section of the Bible. Each genre—including the Pentateuch, Historical Books, Wisdom Literature, the Prophets, the Gospels, the Epistles, and Apocalyptic Literature—provides a unique and special way God has communicated throughout history and helps us understand the Bible as a whole. This series is a great way to help kids understand that every part of the Bible has a special role in revealing who God is and his purposes.

    Week 1

    We can understand the will and desires of God for his people because he reveals himself to humanity through creation, the Law, and relationships within the first five books of the Bible.

    God blesses or judges the people of Israel—just like he said he would—based on their loyalty to him.

    God reveals his wisdom to people through many creative forms, and he does it so we can make decisions in a way that pleases him.

    In the Prophets, God relays his message through inspired men in order to grab the attention of his people and call them to turn away from doing wrong things.
