  DM: Dating and Marriage

  This four-week series is a cultural hot topic. In the world of teenagers, dating can often be seen as crush to crush concept with no end goal except self-gratification. While the Bible doesn’t speak on dating in particular (dating as we know it is a modern construct), DM is a series designed to help students understand the importance of their relationships, and how they can better prepare themselves for a healthy, Christ-centered marriage. What does the Bible say about relationships and marriage? How can we apply these principles to our lives today? This month-long series is a great opportunity to talk to your students about a sensitive subject.

    Week 1

    Your relationship with Jesus is the most important relationship in your life. Your love for him should flow into your love for others.

    Week 2

    God created you for community, and not just community with the person you are dating. Community allows us to grow closer to God, and to bring accountability to our relationship.

    Week 3

    Hurt or pain from past relationships can continue harming us long after the other person is gone. We must address these issues through forgiveness and Christ’s love.

    Week 4

    Attraction and sex are both created by God. The Bible gives us specifications regarding those subjects for our protection and God’s honor.
