Series Guide
Overview
This six-week series examines the holy days of the Old Testament. Through observing the importance of feasts, ceremonies, and remembering the past, we can understand the importance of God’s people remembering him on special days like Passover, Pentecost, and the Day of Atonement. Our understanding these Old Testament holy days shows us the foreshadowing and building of the work of Christ and God’s continued work in his people.
Weekly Previews
Week 1
God established festivals and holy days for his people to celebrate and remember what he had done for them.
Week 2
Passover reveals God’s sacrifice and rescue of his people, pointing to what Christ has done for us.
Week 3
The Feast of Firstfruits represented giving God our best and remembering his provision.
Week 4
The harvest celebration of Pentecost reveals God’s giving of the Law to Moses and his giving of the Holy Spirit in Acts.
Week 5
The Day of Atonement reflected God’s redemption and people’s need to repent and receive grace.
Week 6
The Feast of Tabernacles was a reenactment of God’s people living in the wilderness and God providing for them.
